The NZAMD American Jazz is an exciting syllabus choreographed by Keith Clifton of the USA and is suitable for the once a week student, as well as the dancer who is aiming for a dance career - there are many NZAMD trained jazz dancers performing in shows around the world.

We cover various dance styles, taught by experienced teachers, who are passionate about helping students achieve their goals and become the best version of themselves. The skills, sense of discipline and participation learnt in their dance classes, and show performances will positively cross over into all aspects of their lives.
The classes also encourage individual creativity with student choreography improvisation in the higher levels.
This class teaches students basic jazz techniques such as turns, leaps and jumps whilst combining musicality, stamina and control within the grade progressions. Exams are offered in this subject progressing from junior/beginner level through to teaching qualifications and diplomas.
Jazz dance is no longer solely the domain of fan kicks and shimmies. The term “jazz” now incorporates a broad range of dance styles.
We recommend that jazz exam students from approx grade 3 and up (or earlier) attend a ballet class once a week.
