The summer bounty is a spectacle around the world, and nowhere shines brighter than Mexico, whose milpas (gardens) overflow with corn, chiles, squash, tomatoes, and fresh herbs.
Join Gino Garcia in this colorful vegetable-filled class, where you’ll learn about the complex flavors and cooking methods of Mexican farmstead life. You’ll make sopa de guías con chochoyotes (squash blossom and vines soup with masa dumplings and wild herbs);
torrejas de maíz (corn fritters) with salsa blanca and salsa negra; arroz verde (rice cooked with poblano chiles, summer greens, cilantro, and lime); and ensalada de nopal (grilled cactus with tomatoes, bell peppers, radish, and cotija cheese).

Here at the Pantry, we call ourselves a community kitchen. For us, that means we do many things: cooking classes focusing on traditional food crafts and technique, five-course family-style dinners, culinary camp for the kids, power lunches for makers, food swaps, and cookbook club potluck suppers.

Mexican Harvest Cooking class is offered by Cooking By Ivette. Enchiladas filled w/Shredded Pork made in a Crockpot, Tortilla Chips w/ Homemade Guacamole & Salsa, Southwest Ceasar Salad and Pumpkin Bread for Dessert.
Mexican Favorites Class is offered by Kids Who Cook. In all classes, everything is very hands-on and everybody gets a chance to do a little of everything. The children are taught how to clean up and then everyone sits to eat what was made.
In this delicious cooking class, students will prepare a variety of classic Mexican dishes like Nopales salad, Scallop Aquachile, scratch-made tortillas & an incredible shrimp dish that comes from the town of Sayulita. Students will explore local flavors, learn techniques, knife skills.
Bring your family for an afternoon that is sure to be Deliciouso! In this hands-on class we will make flour tortillas from scratch to make chicken street style tacos. Practice knife skills to make Pico de Gallo salsa. Â
One evening with tacos and margs will make you wish that all your evenings were south of the border! Rich flavorful tacos yearn for a salty and slightly sour margarita; it cools the spice and relaxes the mind.
