What Culture Means To Us

There are many different definitions for the word 'culture'.

Culture defines ethnicity. Cultural diversity is an essential concept at the Pretoria Chinese School. We pride ourselves on having over 40 different cultures among our students and staff.

Heritage Day is a beautiful event where we show off the traditional dress of all the cultures represented at the school. Some students dress in clothes handed down from generation to generation. Other students make their traditional outfits themselves. 

We teach our students to respect different cultures, as well as to celebrate them.

We create a community of diverse individuals willing to put aside their differences so they can appreciate and celebrate one another.

Students' attitudes towards their teachers, classmates, and themselves shape a school's culture. Perspectives include a school's values and belief system and how it operates.

We want our students and staff to feel included at our school regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
