A school is not just its buildings, sports fields, or facilities. A school is much more than just a place where students go to learn. It is a community of people who share their experiences as they teach and learn together. A school is defined not just by its curriculum but also by its culture.
A school is not just its buildings, sports fields, or facilities. A school is much more than just a place where students go to learn. It is a community of people who share their experiences as they teach and learn together.
A school is defined not just by its curriculum but also by its culture. And its culture comes from its teachers, students, and staff.
We're proud of our community because we believe everyone is welcome here regardless of their background or beliefs. We celebrate our differences rather than trying to hide them.
A good school has facilities and achievements, but a great school has a community culture.
Our three philosophical pillars at the Pretoria Chinese School are discipline, respect, and humility.
We aim to ensure that our community and culture reflect these values and weave them into our daily lives.
What Culture Means To Us
There are many different definitions for the word 'culture'.
Culture defines ethnicity. Cultural diversity is an essential concept at the Pretoria Chinese School. We pride ourselves on having over 40 different cultures among our students and staff.
Heritage Day is a beautiful event where we show off the traditional dress of all the cultures represented at the school. Some students dress in clothes handed down from generation to generation. Other students make their traditional outfits themselves.
We teach our students to respect different cultures, as well as to celebrate them.
We create a community of diverse individuals willing to put aside their differences so they can appreciate and celebrate one another.
Students' attitudes towards their teachers, classmates, and themselves shape a school's culture. Perspectives include a school's values and belief system and how it operates.
We want our students and staff to feel included at our school regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
Students and staff can feel comfortable in their skin during the learning experience.
