Lyrical is explained as dancing to the lyrics of a song, working all emotions and how to portray them through dance. Age 12+

The skills, sense of discipline and participation learnt in their dance classes, and show performances will positively cross over into all aspects of their lives.
The Chilton Dance Centre training in Modern Jazz is based on the New Zealand Association of Modern Dance (NZAMD) syllabus.
A fun, casual environment where students will learn technique and different choreography throughout the term. Students in these classes do not sit examinations.
The NZAMD jazz syllabus is designed with comprehensive warm ups, stretches, floor work, progressions from corners with turns, kicks and jumps and fun combinations. Students have the option of sitting exams or medals.
We study the American Jazz Dance Affiliation syllabus and exams are held in August each year.
All students are expected to sit exams and dance in our end-of-year Show. Exam results are excellent and include top-in-NZ awards.
