Atwater Photo Camp is a super fun and exciting 5 day photo adventure that inspires kids to explore their world in a deeper way. Through games and activities designed to challenge perspective, we build skills with camera, light and storytelling.
We begin with a basic overview of camera functions. Then through practice we learn how to make images, rather than take them. Each day we review our work, and on Friday we host an exhibit where campers showcase their work for friends & family.
Ultimately campers develop their photographic eye and learn new ways of seeing.
Daily Activities:
Photo Camp counselors are working photographers who have been in the industry for years. With experience in education and childhood development, they understand how to ignite passion and curiosity in a non-competitive environment.
We aim to provide a supportive community designed to inspire photographers of all levels. We build confidence in technical skills so that you can focus on your artistic endeavors, and we embrace your work ultimately providing you a forum to make it grow.
Our curriculum focuses play-based learning to combat learning loss and keep literacy and math skills sharp. Traditional activities such as arts, group games and sports will be included. The result will be stronger academic success in the coming school year.
Kids will learn culinary and baking basics as we create and taste foods from different parts of the country.
This is a 5-day Summer Cooking Camp that is progressive and looks to build upon each participant's previous day learning. While the summer camp is progressive in nature, each class is designed to enhance the technique of the student to increase their knowledge of general kitchen terms and skills.
Does your child love to cook, or even just help in the kitchen? This summer camp will teach him or her kitchen safety along with basic knife skills, basic nutrition and kitchen hygiene. It will build confidence and excitement for trying new recipes.
At a time when anyone with a smartphone can be called a “photographer,” NYFA’s photography camps are focused on shaping the next generation of photographers to not simply be “good,” but to become truly extraordinary in an increasingly crowded field.
