The exercises performed in class are designed to increase muscle memory, improve flexibility, strengthen technique and encourage longevity in dance. The syllabus is designed by Marie Walton-Mahon who has been successfully training dancers for over 4 decades.
Since introducing this syllabus in 2017, we have seen exciting milestones achieved by dancers exploring the correct alignment of their bodies. This has both increased their learning capacity and unlocked their dancing potential.

Limelight Dance Academy - holds classes 7 days a week in RAD Ballet, NZAMD Jazz, and Contemporary, as well as Hip hop and Tap classes.
These classes are for students 4 years and up. This syllabus is aimed to develop rhythm.
This class is for students who would like to go further in their dance career and to learn more about the art of ballet. The class will be open to those students who have just sat Grade 6 level or above. Â
Technique classes are for those dancers who want to improve their technique in jazz, contemporary and ballet.
Ballet is an important base for most dance disciplines, and the NZAMD Ballet syllabus is designed to allow students to progress without pressure.
At Viva Dance we run ballet classes at beginner levels for Adults. These classes are great for improving your posture and flexibility so they are beneficial to dancers and non dancers alike.
