The Phoenix Rising recreational dance program is fun and engaging and is valued for its social, educational and health benefits.
Recreational dance classes are an affordable and simple way for you and your children to explore dance and its benefits with low commitment.
Dancers engaged in our recreational dance program take anywhere from 45 minutes to less than 4 hours of dance a week.
Your child will have the option to perform with their classmates at the end of each semester in either our annual Holiday Showcase or Spring Showcase.

Located on the east side of Indianapolis near 56th Street and Binford Boulevard, Phoenix Rising Dance Studios is a beautiful and inviting facility made for dancers by dancers.
Phoenix Rising was intentionally designed by executive director Will Sears-Watson and artistic director Justin David Sears-Watson to be a loving space built on community and inclusivity.
The energetic and colorful space with high ceilings and sprung floors by O’Mara Sprung Floors and Harlequin, invites dancers of all ages and abilities to reach their fullest potential through the art of dance.
Lyrical dance combines the grace of ballet and jazz. The style shows great emotion through the art of dance as students learn to dance to the lyrics of music. You must be 8 years of age, or have teacher permission, and take ballet and jazz in order to take this class.
Modern/Contemporary Dance Classes are offered by South Bay Dance Center for all ages and skill level. South Bay Dance Center is recognized by many bay area professional dancers and college faculty members as the premiere dance education facility for serious dance students.
Contemporary dance classes are offered by Dance Center of Florida for all ages and skill level. Dance Center of Florida’s mission is to bring a professional and supportive dance center to Miami offering diverse dance training for both children and adults.
Contemporary dance is an expressive style of dance that utilizes elements of different dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. It doesn’t have fixed or established movement patterns but it’s rather in a continuous search for new forms and dynamics
Contemporary dance is based on ballet techniques, but is more free-spirited. Dancers explore emotions, and use their that to portray personal expression in their dance techniques. Some dancers wear half soles that support the ball of the foot, while others are barefoot.
