A Salsa class like no other. You will learn the basic step of Salsa, partnering up in the class you will learn series of combinations. This class is relaxed and non-competitive.

 

What to wear

  • Leather soled shoe is best for easy turning – either with or without a heel – shoes that stay on (not slip off), sneakers OK. Comfortable clothing, pants, dress, skirt or dance/workout gear – nothing too tight that will restrict movement.

  • Fernandoebony was born in Lima, Peru of Afro-Peruvian heritage. He grew up dancing many different styles such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Samba, Folklorice, Afro-Peruvian… In 1991 he and his sister Liliana were chosen as “Pareja Latin Hit” in the popular Channel 9 TV competition in Peru. Fernando performed Afro-Peruvian with the dance group “Ebano y Marfiel”, Folklorice with the Folklore dance group of the “University San Martin de Porres” and acted, danced and sang with the group “Creacion”. Since his arrival in Australia he has been teaching and performing (Salsoteca at BJs Nightclub, The Cuban Dance Company, South American Festival, Bacardi Latino Festival, Festival Fiesta, Fox Studios, Lane Cove Festival…). He has done modelling for The Design Centre Enmore on behalf of Ultimo T.A.F.E. He has been an extra in commercials and also in several movies (Mission Impossible, Lantana, The Pill Box and The Matrix Revolutions). Fernando also writes and records songs and his latest CD is soon to be released.
