The Jazz classes are worked on a rotation basis between the more upbeat and energetic commercial style and the slow, controlled lyrical routines.
Within these classes the pupils will work on strengthening, toning, stretching as well as developing pick up skills by learning free work.
To attend this class you must also attend a weekly Modern Class. For anyone wanting a career in dance, this class captures the fast moving, upbeat pace of industry classes.
SLP Junior Academy provides a high level of training in Dance and Musical Theatre. Our focus is on progressive teaching within a fun and safe environment.
We offer classes in RAD Ballet as well as ISTD Modern and Tap for children aged 3 and above in a safe and caring environment a variety of other classes are also available including Musical Theatre, Acting, Singing, Jazz and Street Dance.
All of our pupils benefit from state of the art facilities designed for both Dance and Musical Theatre. We have eleven professional studios, changing facilities, Café area, “Dance Gear” shop and ample free parking in the college car park.
Musical Theatre Jazz classes are offered by DM Studios. We are really keen to help our adult dancers get fit, make new friends and have loads of fun doing the one thing we all enjoy, dance!
Junior Jazz & Stretching classes are offered by Timestep Academy of Dance Official. Each class has an emphasis on having fun for everyone, but teachers will still concentrate on training pupils to a high standard.
The Jazz class is a 'let your hair down' fun class with fast amalgamations that change regularly. This non-syllabus class is available to students aged 12 upwards,
Jazz incorporates traditional or stylized dynamic movements with strength, continuity, presence and proper technical execution. Jazz is lively, energetic and motivating, with the understanding that the dynamics of movement may change to utilize musicality.
Modern/Jazz classes are offered by Dance Discovery. The main aim of the dance school is fun and enjoyment while working towards RAD & ISTD exams throughout the year. We also have various performance opportunities which we encourage pupils to attend.
