These dances carry all the beats to have you moving like never before! You will be taught with patience and skill; some turns and dips will be added to allow you to achieve the true Salsa experience.
In 1987 our classes started in a small studio and due to overwhelming demand we moved to larger premises. Finally in 2007 we moved to our purpose-built studio on Montague Street in North Wollongong.
To date Dance World has taught thousands to dance Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Ballroom and Latin. The phenomenal success is due to a team effort. Doug has been the visionary driver whilst his wife Yvonne maintains balance and public relations. Then there are the teachers; most of whom have been with Dance World for over 15 years, which is testimony in itself. All in all, a happy family institution has been created where students can learn the joy of dance at whatever level suits them.
Dance World was created by Doug Newton, a former Australian Professional Latin & Ballroom Champion, and World finalist. Doug has vast national and international experience, and a lifetime commitment to the arts, especially dance.
Dance World has the advantage of longevity and experience, and we are always evolving to meet new trends and the needs of our students.
The administration is fine-tuned, efficient and friendly, and we are a family-owned business.
Everyone loves a little extra Salsa! Salsa is one of the world's most famous dances. A spicy blend of Cuban and African influences, Salsa is a fantastic style for dancers just starting out, and challenging enough to keep even pros coming back for more.
Salsa Dance Lessons are offered by VIP Dance. We always have a variety of group classes running that change with popular interest. And of course individual private lessons can be arranged at any time.
The basic steps move in a line but the character of the dance is to add a lot of turns, partners changing places and wrapping arm movements. It gets very impressive when the music is faster and using the hips will make it look sexy.
Providing LA style and dancing, the aim of these classes is to have fun and achieve social competency. Salsa dancing in Adelaide has a great scene and we provide beginners salsa classes all the way through to advanced.
