All performances are family friendly experiences. In addition to regular classes, Studio J offers dedicated dancers the opportunity to participate in competition classes and workshops as part of the award winning Studio J Company. This class will focus on learning tap technique and terminology and putting them together in exciting combinations using high-energy music. Tap encourages the development of musicality and coordination.
This course draw from both the Broadway and the contemporary Rhythm-Tap styles and begin with a foot isolating warm-up, followed by rhythm and step-based skill building in both the center of the room and moving across the floor.
A truly American art form, tap dance blends athleticism and artistry to deepen the dancer's awareness of rhythm and musicality. This beginner level works on improving articulation of the feet and building steps together to form rhythm
Whether you are a beginner tapper or a true Hoofer, tap classes at Peridance Center will have you making music with your feet! All of our tap faculty are active performers in and outside of New York City and teach styles ranging from Broadway techniques, Hoofing, Rhythms.
