Tap is an exciting rhythmical dance style that is truly American. While many teachers have tried to imitate the “Earle Cobb” style of tap, this is its only true home. As students progress, they study many different varieties of tap dancing.
Our tap program begins teaching our students the fundamental steps and rhythm combinations to become a tap dancer. While learning tap technique, students will learn musicality and important performance techniques.
An ideal class for beginners, this class is for the student who wishes to improve rhythm and musicality while learning and developing basic tap technique.
This class has a standard warm-up, focuses on across the floor technique and ends with a combo.
Tap developed in 19th Century America from a mix of Irish clogging, African and African-American movements and vaudeville. Using special shoes with metal plates, the tap dancer can create multiple sounds and rhythmic patterns with their feet
