Violin classes are offered by Rotorua Music School. You are able to request a preferred day of the week, we will co-ordinate lesson times where possible.
DurationMusic classes are held after school, Tuesday-Thursday, in 30-minute sessions. You can now enroll your child for lessons with Rotorua Music School online. Each class runs for 30 minutes.

Rotorua Music School is a partly government funded, non-profit organisation established in 1986 to provide high quality, low cost music tuition for the people of the Rotorua district. We are administered by a Director appointed by our committee which is made up of parents and students.
We pride ourselves on offering a high quality, affordable introduction to music for predominantly primary school aged children. Our students will learn to read, create, appreciate and because we make our lessons fun, develop a love of music.
We operate out of the Western Heights High School Music Department, after school, weekdays.
The Howick School of Music offers lessons for:  Violin, Piano, Cello, Viola, Double Bass, Harp, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Bassoon,  Trumpet, Trombone, Horn, Guitar, Drum-kit, Recorder and Music for 5-6 year olds.
We provide group lessons to children 5-12 years of age and private tuition for the advancing student 13 years and older.

Students in our Violin School study violin in group lessons for five levels. All our violin students participate in one of our three string groups or three orchestras appropriate to their level.
Students gain a good understanding of posture, technique and note-reading on the violin, and can progress to a moderately advanced level both individually and as part of a group.
