We design a personal program to meet the needs and interests of each student. The basis of this is the lesson book from which we learn our key skills. Progress is easy to track and it ensures that students are always learning new skills, not just new songs.
This is supplemented with resources focusing on Theory, Sight Reading, Ear Training and Technique. We then add in other elements to suit each individual student including; pop, rock or jazz pieces, composition exercises, and chord chart reading, to name a few. This program results in fast-paced development and a solid foundation from which to build in any musical direction.
Technics Music Academy provides affordable, quality musical instruction.
For the early beginner: Qualified and passionate teachers will foster a love of music and performing in your child that will last a lifetime. Group classes are great fun and help children learn to listen to others and work as a team whilst acquiring basic keyboard skills and musical theory and building confidence. Individual instruction is available for students at a higher level.
For the intermediate/high school student: We include a variety of styles for the pupil to play including current and popular music to keep them interested! Students can also learn to figure out music for themselves, make arrangements, play with others or how to sing and play at the same time. Learning fresh skills to enhance their playing/performing keeps these young musicians interested in lessons and developing their talent.
For Adults: Is it time to learn a new skill? Want to challenge your self or just develop a relaxing hobby. We have a range of options suited to adult beginners or ex-players wanting to dust off the piano and start afresh.

Clarinet classes are offered by Whangarei Youth Music. Good communication and input from the student is important to an enjoyable experience.Â
Epsom Music School was established in 1996 by a group of Auckland Philharmonia musicians under the leadership of Tatiana Lanchtchikova.
The clarinet is suited to a student from about 9 - 10 years old, because hands have to be big enough to successfully cover the holes in the pipe. Younger children can begin with recorder then move to the clarinet when they are big enough. Instruments can be hired or purchased.
Clarinet Course is Offered by Upper Hutt Music Centre. The Upper Hutt Music Centre is a non-profit organisation. UHMC is a NZ Ministry of Education out of hours music education program for primary aged children.
Students are expected to provide their own instrument but can be supported with hire options by the teacher.
