Course Overveiw
Work Zone Traffic Management involves the management of traffic through, around and past roadwork sites whilst balancing the safety needs of both workers and road users such as drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
In South Australia, the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) govern the safe undertaking of Work Zone Traffic Management.
DIT require you to undertake a refresher course every three years.
At all times whilst workers are present at a worksite at least one worker must carry a current Work Zone Traffic Management accreditation card.
Course Outcomes
On completion of the course you will be able to:
Plan and prepare
Control traffic and operate communication devices
Set out traffic guidance scheme
Monitor traffic guidance scheme
Close down work activities
Conduct housekeeping activities
If successful you will receive a newly issued Statement of Attainment and a new DIT issued Work Zone Traffic Management Card.

Traffic Control training course is delivered and certificates are issued by Edway Training (RTO No 91401). Edway Training is approved by the Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) to deliver this training course.
On successful completion of this course trainees in the resources and infrastructure industries will be able to demonstrate the correct method for installation
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), in the year ending June 2020 there were 1,157 work-related injuries in the road and rail transport industry. This highlights the importance of proper traffic control measures and training to ensure the safety of workers in this industry.
This course consists of two modules which must be completed together on the same day Control Traffic with Stop Go Bat and Implement Traffic Management Plans
