Ofsted outstanding provider

• At Edge Hill, we have a proud tradition of teacher training and we’re committed to developing the very best teachers. Our recent Ofsted inspection recognised the quality of our initial teacher education as ‘outstanding’ across all three initial teacher training age phases.

Sustainability, Social and Economic Contribution

• Sustainability has always been at the heart of what we do. Not just in the role we play in creating sustainable communities through the provision of vital qualified public service staff such as teachers, nurses or operating theatre staff but also as a major employer and consumer of resources.

• We apply real world knowledge to our teaching. Educating students to know exactly what employers are looking for in competitive job markets.

• We set out to deliver teaching of the highest standard informed by research of true international standing, set in an intellectually stimulating, ideas-focused and inclusive environment. More than half of Edge Hill’s research is classed as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021.
