Extreme Dance is one of the leading dance institutions in Wellington.
Established in 2005, we aim to create a positive, welcoming environment that is encouraging for all.
Located within the City of Porirua, Extreme Dance is one of the most comprehensive dance facilities within the Wellington region. We have four studios and seven dance styles on offer for students from 18 months to advanced students and professionals.
We offer a range of classes catering for students from pre-schoolers to advanced levels, in a wide range of dance styles. We take pride in our reputation of providing expert tuition, in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Our classes focus on the enjoyment of dance and performance, and we strive to unlock every student’s potential, build their confidence, and ignite a passion for dance!
Our tap programme offers non-exam classes to explore and enjoy the fundamentals of tap dance, with a focus on rhythm and technique
Our hiphop programme offers non-exam classes that cover a range of street dance styles.Classes are grouped by age: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-13, 14 years & over.
Teaching the NZAMD syllabus from Introductory to Level 6, we introduce older students to organic, beautiful and emotive contemporary dance.

Lyrical dance is highly expressive and creative. Classes follow the BTDA Syllabus, from Grade 1 – 8. Students may begin lyrical and add an extra skill to their collection when they reach Grade 3 ballet or jazz.
