This course covers the theory and practical skills of the standard first aid course as prescribed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Included are the first aid basics, medical emergencies, and injury emergencies.
This course meets the requirements for National Certification for CPR from the American Heart Association (AHA). You will learn how to respond to emergencies involving infants, children, and adults.
Lifeguard Training provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to breathing and aquatic emergencies and to provide care for cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel arrives.
Strokes taught in this adult course include backcrawl, breaststroke and crawl stroke. Diving is also included. (Prerequisites: Students must be comfortable in deep water and must be able to swim 20 yards.)
