West Side Music Academy joined the West Seattle community in 1998 , when owners, Chris and Cami MacDonald, began teaching lessons from their home on SW Dakota Street. Today WSMA boasts a great line-up of vibrant teachers offering a wide variety of lessons as well as group classes.
All of our teachers are experienced musicians who are actively performing and recording while guiding budding musicians. Each teacher has their own unique way of drawing out the creative juices.
Every voice is beautiful, unique, and can be trained to sing many different styles of music. If your ambitions are to sing to yourself in the shower or to sold out concert halls, West Side Music Academy can pair you with a teacher to help you explore and develop your natural talent
The Woodwind family is broken up into flutes (flute, piccolo), single reed instruments (saxophones, clarinet) and double reed instruments (oboe, bassoon). Woodwinds bring beauty, drama and character to every style of music. They anchor the orchestra and are front and center in most jazz ensembles
For centuries, string sections have brought masterpieces from the great composers to life. Modern orchestras pack orchestra halls to celebrate everything from Bach to Tchaikovsky while also providing soundtracks to Broadway musicals and motion pictures
Piano Lessons are offered by West Side Music Academy. From classical compositions to classic rock; modern pop, jazz and country, there are a million ways to ring those 88 keys.
