RRC’s Legionella Awareness Short Course covers details of the regulations surrionding control of legionella as laid out in The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, in particualr the context and for regulations and Approved Codes of Practice that apply to legionella. 

Legionella Awareness course is offered by Steve Willis Training Centres. Our bespoke courses are available for group bookings and planned to suit customer requirements.

The Legionella Prevention and Water Treatment course is designed to help plumbers; operators and managers with an understanding of the requirements of controlling legionella within plumbing systems.

The course covers properties of water, with particular focus on how to prevent the harmful legionella pneumophila bacteria, which causes Legionnaires disease. The course explains how a water system should be disinfected and also lists the chemicals that are used in the process.

Legionnaires' disease is a potentially fatal form of pneumonia which can affect anybody, but which principally affects those who are susceptible to disease because of age, illness, immunosuppression, smoking etc.

The half-day Legionella Awareness course is aimed at all staff, especially those involved in the role of the responsible person (RP), involved in the management and operation of building water systems and those who have a role in the control procedures.

This in-house MG Scotland course is aimed at personnel who are either in the role of, or aspiring to be in the role of, Responsible Person, relating specifically to the control of legionella on a site.

Our Legionella Responsible Person Training program provides comprehensive and practical guidance for individuals responsible for controlling the risk of legionella in their workplace.

This course is aimed at anyone in a supervisory or management position who works in an establishment that has warm aerosol producing systems in place.
