Indian food is rich in flavors and spices, but many traditional dishes can be high in calories, saturated fat, and sodium. However, here at The Real Food Academy, we make Indian food healthier without sacrificing its delicious taste.
Indian food is rich in flavors and spices, but many traditional dishes can be high in calories, saturated fat, and sodium. However, here at The Real Food Academy, we make Indian food healthier without sacrificing its delicious taste. We also use spices like turmeric, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cardamom seeds, and ginger not only to add flavor but also because of the health benefits.
At the Real Food Academy, our cooking classes in Miami for kids and adults are all about good times, good tastes, and good eating habits. Founded in 2008 by Head Chef Maria Cummins.
The mission of the academy isn’t just to teach kids how to cook delicious meals, but also to teach them what types of ingredients to cook with. These are the words we cook by at our cooking school in Miami, Florida.
“We don’t change the dish, we change the ingredients!” This allows our little chefs to cook what they enjoy while using healthy, all-natural substitutes that are better for them, and that taste better, too!
Why is Indian food so darn delicious? Is it because it’s flavors are complex, fluctuating between sweet, savory, and spicy? Or is it because Indian food encompasses a wide variety of regional and traditional cuisines native to the country?
You will be taught everything you need to know about spices (masalas), which is the basis of Indian cooking that will come handy when we begin to cook. Spices bring out the flavor in each dish;
Join Shankari as she shows you how to make classic paneer tikka masala, with soft melt-in-your-mouth tender chunks of marinated paneer swimming in a flavorsome spicy & creamy gravy. Rounding off this dish, you will make turmeric rice for an amazing vegetarian Indian dinner.
A menu for not just fathers, but mothers and children as well! Roasted Amchur chicken will cook in the oven while the stew and the dal makhni brews away.
We are bringing the flavors of Indian cuisine to weeknight dinner. We will be creating dishes inspired by the bold taste of India and adding them to some of our favorite weeknight dinner options.
