For our youngest students the journey into the ballet world begins with the Dance to Your Own Tune curriculum. The classes are fun, artistic & enchanting under the guidance of our inspiring teachers. Suitable for children age 3 to 5 years. The next levels are Pre-Primary and Primary which are full of captivating music, delightful dances & steps. This program is suitable for Ages 5 to 7 years.?
We then move on progressing through the Grades , each level is devised with great care to enable children to progress through their training in planned stages, demanding no more on their body than it can cope with. Our dancers just love each and every Grade as their technique develops & they enjoy greater knowledge and love of Classical & Modern Ballet.
For the dedicated ballet dancer the RAD also have their Vocational Graded levels. Students can move from Graded Examinations to Vocational Graded Examinations at an appropriate time, or they can study both pathways simultaneously. Here at DDS we offer classes in the full range of RAD Levels and many students study syllabus work alongside other styles of dance. Students wishing to excel in ballet may transition into the Denise Mantle College of Ballet, applications and auditions accepted from Age 11 years.
Denise Dancing was established in 1982. Commencing at the McDonald Hall in Padbury & the Ocean Ridge Recreation Centre.
Due to the success & growth of the school in 1991 it was obvious that the Denise Dancers needed a home of their very own, therefore Miss Denise opened Joondalup’s very first dance studio.
Over the years Denise Dancing School has always strived to stay at the forefront in the dance industry both in its facilities & training methods.
Now celebrating our 37th year DDS invites you to become part of the continuing success story at "the original & still the best dance school in Joondalup".
Ballet is the fundamental dance style, with dance technique and safe dance practise at its core. Contemporary/Lyrical is ballet’s offshoot style with more free flowing expressive, yet at times dynamic movement.
We understand starting ‘Big School’ signals a change in routine for our Kindy and Year 1 students but it doesn’t have to mean putting their love of performing arts on the backburner!
Geelong Ballet Centre teaches the Royal Academy of Dance training syllabus. This syllabus is internationally recognised and provides a strong training program for classical ballet dancers.
For the experienced ballerina, these classes will follow Royal Academy Dance program, with an option to take exams each year. Under the guidance of our highly trained teacher Miss Christina Federici Di Donna
The class is focused on developing foot and ankle strength and flexibility. Students are welcome to take this class in soft ballet shoes to focus on developing their strength and technique.
