Learning Outcomes
As part of this course, students will achieve the following learning outcomes:
Overview of coffee history
Blends and single origin
Coffee extraction
Coffee dosage
Stretching milk
Adjusting grind
Common coffees found in Australian cafes
Clean and maintain the coffee machine
Basic coffee art
Food hygiene practices
Students will complete the following units of competency:
SITHFAB005 - Prepare and serve espresso coffee
SITXFSA001 - Use hygienic practices for food safety

Dispel the myths and learn coffee making skills for working in cafes, bars and restaurants. It is important to note that SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety is a prerequisite for this program and you will need to provide evidence of this prior to commencing this training.
Our 3-hour barista experience teaches you how to use a coffee machine from scratch. With no prior experience, you will leave knowing how to:
Creating great-tasting coffee has to go through many processes and can be a difficult task. That’s why ETC is your perfect training venue for getting hands-on experience, insight into becoming a coffee connoisseur and developing Barista skills that can take you all around the world.
This accredited course provides students with the opportunity to develop basic skills and knowledge required to make espresso coffees including café latte, cappuccino, flat white, mochaccino, short and long macchiato & long blacks.
At the end of the course, participants will have developed the skills and knowledge of the art of coffee making. A Certificate of Completion will be issued at the conclusion of the course.
