What Does A Barista Training Class Teach?
Barista training classes should teach the basics of making good coffee and espresso. On the first day of our professional barista training class, we learn a lot about how to work with espresso and milk. Our students learn about the history and theory of espresso and how to use the right equipment and coffee machine. Then, we put this knowledge to use by showing them how to make espresso by hand. Next, students learn the correct way to steam, texture, and pour milk and how to make all the classic drinks made with espresso and milk that have stood the test of time.
On the second day, we give an overview of where coffee comes from and how it is grown, and we also taste and rate coffee. From there, we go into detail about the essential parts of making good coffee. We teach our students how to spot and fix off-tasting results through guided hands-on experiments and tastings. We then use these skills to fix common problems with coffee brewing equipment.
No matter what class you take, you should learn new skills that make it easier and more consistent to make coffee drinks taste great. We teach our students more than just how to make drinks. We teach them everything there is to know about the science behind coffee. They know how to find and control the things that change how something tastes.
We also teach coffee shop owners and baristas how to make drinks quickly, right down to which drink to make first, second, and third for each order.
Lastly, our barista training is constantly changing to keep up with changes in the industry.
