Come along for a half-day course and learn how to handle a knife properly and safely, as you grow in confidence and learn the classic chopping, cutting, dicing, and slicing techniques.
You will get the chance to work with a variety of ingredients including meat, fish, and vegetables, as our master chefs show you the ropes and leave you with expert knife skills.
Please note lunch will not be provided. But you will be able to ‘make and take’ any food you use on the day, so please remember to bring your own containers!

In the heart of the Surrey Hills, a pub was lovingly turned into The Abinger Cookery School and is run by a group of food-loving enthusiasts.
The school offers a personal approach to cookery lessons. We teach in small groups, allowing time to get to know you and to encourage you to improve your cooking skills.
We endeavour to work with as many local businesses as possible.
This half-day class will allow you to hone your skills and learn new ones, as well as understand the principles of good cooking.
Boost your confidence in the kitchen. Knives are the essential kitchen tool and every cook needs to get to grips with them.
This Knife-skills class will teach you about the range of knives available, what they should be used for and how to handle and maintain them. You will learn how to chop, slice and dice to save time and perfect your julienne, baton and chiffonade skills.
After enjoying a welcome cuppa and pastry with your fellow classmates, our chef will educate you on the different types of knives and what they are used for, in addition to the different cutting styles and techniques like, julienne, macédoine and paysanne.
Menu and theme change, however your skills and confidence will grow and you will learn how the new skills translate to differing cuisines
