Martin Barnett came to Canada in 1977. Following his lifelong love of bread, Martin immersed himself in the emerging natural foods movement in Victoria, BC. Rising Star Wholefoods Bakery, (originally incorporated as a Workers’ Cooperative) became his home for 20 years, expanding to three outlets operated by a close-knit group of family and friends.

We will work together step-by-step to learn how to use buttercream, a variety of piping tips, fondant, molds, and edible paint to create spooky Halloween themed cupcakes
As always, I will bring my language and culture to the time we share together, and share my knowledge of cooking techniques, and the health benefits of the food that we will enjoy. The meal will include one appetizer, two main dishes, bread, rice, and a non-alcoholic beverage or dessert.
With expert guidance from Winnipeg Bread’s Jared Ozuk, learn to bake a golden brown loaf of soft Challah bread. Challah is a special bread of Ashkenazi Jewish origin, usually braided, using a rich egg dough.Â
