Dancers can expect a formal contemporary warmup, coordination building movement tasks, improvisation, and a taste of Katlins' signature movement language. This is a space for exploration, where you will be asked to meet challenge with joy and curiosity. All bodies and backgrounds are celebrated in this movement laboratory.
Founded in September 2015, Dovetail Studios has become a community space for the arts on the North Side of Chicago. Dovetail Studios provides high quality dance training for dancers of all ages in a fun and encouraging environment.
Like a sport, dance has a trajectory. At Dovetail, we prioritize individual growth in whatever technique a dancer chooses to study. Our studio has training opportunities for the very young all the way to the working professional dancer.
Our younger dance students get to witness the trajectory from beginner to professional just by being in the space. The mix of ages and levels under one roof makes training at Dovetail quite a unique experience.
Our children’s program includes an audition-based Nutcracker performance in our studio theatre for the Fall session and a studio-wide recital performance held off site for the Winter session.
An expressive style that blends elements of jazz, lyrical and ballet. It strives to connect the mind and body through fluid dance movements, focusing on self-expression and choreography.
Both structured and free improvisations aimed at developing creativity, spontaneous decision-making, freedom of movement, and confidence in performance. Also taken for movement practice, performance technique and a tool for creating choreography
Contemporary dance class is offered by Artevivo Dance Studio for all ages and levels. We offer Master & Open Classes, Videos, National Competitions, Shows, Events, & Performances.
Modern Dance Classes are offered by Ms Carol's Center For Dance. CCD and its Staff is dedicated to building character through dance and providing quality dance instruction at affordable prices.Â
Grounded movement focusing on the contraction and release of the center of the body, and the body's reaction to such movements. Expressive choreography and movement executed with an emphasis on technique. Warm-up, across the floor and combinations/ choreography are included.
