For this qualification you will complete practical demonstrations, assignments and short answer theory examinations
What are the entry requirements?
No formal entry requirement, although it is desirable for applicants to have achieved Entry Level 3 in English and Maths. This qualification forms part of a full Study Programme.

The first year is an ideal starter if you want to work in the hospitality and catering industry. In the second year you will gain a high standard of cookery and service skills and learn other workplace essentials including customer service and kitchen health and safety.
This course is designed to introduce you to the exciting opportunities within food production, a key area within the Hospitality and Catering Industry.
The NVQs are suitable for anyone either in full-time employment or progressing from a Level 1 qualification or those who can start a qualification at Level 2.
You will be introduced to a variety of areas and simulate real-working and professional environments in Edinburgh College’s own restaurants and kitchens. Discover and develop skills essential to the industry in communication and teamwork as you take a step closer towards your future career.
