About The Culinary Pre-Apprenticeship Program
London Training Centre continues to serve our clients and the community through the pandemic. In-person and virtual appointments are available for employment services. We continue to provide training courses and programs in-person with limited class size.
In this workshop, you learn how to build and maintain a sourdough starter, and the principles of baking with this culture. We demonstrate a no-knead bread recipe baked in a cast-iron pot and make a small bun together.
In this class you will be guided through all the steps to making this cake, including the pastry cream filling, shaping the dome, and making the little marzipan rose to go on top
Some of our specialty classes have included chocolate making, beer & wine menu pairing, bread making, musical guest “chefs” and mead making. These classes may include a hands-on component and always have something delicious to eat, although a full meal might not be included.
Break the chocolate into small pieces, about the size of your fingernail, but don't get too hung up on making them super precise! While you're breaking the chocolate, listen for its "snap". Is the sound crisp or dull?
Sourdough is a symbiotic culture of bacteria (lactobacilli) and airborne fungus (wild yeast) in which each element within the relationship provides something the other element needs.
