Course Content:
By the end of the course you will be able to:
Assess and prioritise casualty needs
Give effective treatment
Help to assist Emergency Services
Identify Life threatening conditions
Record and Report incident
The course covers the following Emergency First aid situation:
Managing an unresponsive casualty
CPR
Choking
Shock
Wounds and bleeding
Minor injuries
A NUCO FAA Level 3 Three First Aid Certificate is award upon successful completion - valid for 3 years.
No prior knowledge is necessary however this is a regulated course and so, as such, there are minimum standards that must be met. One relates to the minimum training time whilst others relate to the course content and completion of assessments.
The awarding of a certificate to successful attendees is dependent on showing competency and not merely attendance. Therefore, attendees must be capable of completing all of the practical assessments, including the completion of resuscitation for a minimum of two minutes.
This, and other practical elements require the attendee to be able, for instance, to kneel on the floor whilst completing resuscitation or placing a casualty in the recovery position.

The First Aid at Work 3 day course equips the candidate with the skills, knowledge and positive attitude to manage an emergency situation. It is approved by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to their high standards.
Participants who successfully complete the course will be awarded a First Aid certificate which is an accredited qualification and valid for three years.
This EMAS approved course will equip those who wish to become First Aiders, or lapsed First Aiders, in all the essential aspects of occupational First Aid.
Delegates must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
