This class will prepare vegetarian Indian dishes rooted in tradition and complexly flavored, yet approachable enough for a weeknight:
Thaali literally means “plate.” A thaali meal is typically served in little bowls arranged on a single large or compartmentalized plate. The dishes served in a thaali meal are typically 1-2 daily vegetables, daal (legume soup) rice, bread, yogurt, raita, pickle and/or chopped salad.
Indian Cuisine encompasses a wide variety of regional cuisines native to India. Given the range of diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines vary significantly from each other and use locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits.
