Kids and teens will be encouraged to try new tastes and ingredients while cooking at Jules Cuisine Junior, introducing them to a wide range of locally sourced foods.
Cookery classes have up to 12 children (aged 5 to teens) learning to prepare and cook a main meal and dessert which they can either eat at the school or take home. They will take home a binder with the days recipe which they can add to on return.
During all classes, we will discuss the recipes we will be creating and the importance of food hygiene. There is a wide range of main course recipes including meat and fish, we are able to adapt all dishes for vegetarians
There are also a large variety of dessert and cake recipes. Children will cook and eat a main course and dessert and can bring home the same for parents to taste.
All dishes will be prepared by the children and I will demonstrate all aspects of the recipe, the kids will be hands-on and learn from start to finish how to prepare the food.
The kids will cook the recipes under close supervision.
Jules Cuisine now offers Junior, the new cookery school for aspiring and talented young chefs.
Over the last few years Julie has had the pleasure and privilege to be surrounded by young children of varying ages, all have spent much time with Julie creating preparing and cooking food that inspires and motivates the young, resulting in many parents absolutely amazed at what their children will eat if prepared by themselves.
Julie soon realised in this day and age of processed food there was a significant need and almost duty as a parent to use her knowledge to help educate youngsters to understand the importance of nutritional healthy, tasty food, using only fresh seasonal ingredients and incorporating them in to easy to teach, fun and simple tasty dishes.
The result has become youngsters thoroughly enjoying the process of understanding ,sourcing, preparing fresh ingredients in a fun educational way becoming more receptive to new tastes, textures and an immense pride cooking complete dishes which can either be eaten at the school or taken home.
Julie has attained level 1 & 2 food hygiene and safety for catering , has been DBS checked and is also a paediatric first aider
