Giving language to our emotions helps us to formulate plans and solve problems. However, when we get hooked by self-doubt, shame, fear, and anger, we then treat these emotions as facts. Viktor Frankl (author of Man's Search for Meaning) hypothesized that "everything can be taken from a person but one thing: to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's way". Understanding this framework will provide a platform through which the importance of emotional agility for leaders will be examined.

Upon completion of the workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Understand why emotional agility is a critical skill set and mindset.
  • Distinguish between emotional intelligence and emotional agility.
  • Identify five levels of an emotionally agile leader.
  • Explain five drivers of the Agile Model.
  • Understand the central principles of Leadership Agility Coaching.
  • Break free from the tyranny of positivity.
  • Identify the four most common emotional hooks.
  • Understand your personal values and how they impact your emotions.
  • Adapt, when criticized by using the FIRE model-facts, interpretations, reactions, and ends.
  • Distinguish four essential movements for gaining emotional agility.
  • Appreciate the relevance of Leadership Agility for effectiveness.
  • Understand why leaders need to be emotionally agile.
  • Learn how to master inner challenges without being derailed.
