My first class back just had to be my favorite cuisine, Mediterranean! This menu is bold in flavors yet light on the palate at the same time. This meal is perfect to take you from those summer barbecues back into your kitchen. The menu will include:
Homemade Labneh or "Yogurt Cheese" with Pistachios and Honey;
Mediterranean Vegetable Stew;
Roasted Chicken with Turmeric and Olive Pan Sauce;
Lemon-Pine Nut Biscotti for a sweet ending.
Amy’s passion is to create the perfect meal, from appetizer to dessert, and inspire home chefs to bring these ideas into their own kitchen.
Amy Sokol has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Health Education from the University of Texas at Austin. She has taught at the elementary and college levels. Amy currently teaches cooking classes in her own instructional kitchen.
She has taught and lectured at Williams-Sonoma, Sprouts, local health clubs, fitness stores, and community continuing education courses. In addition, she has taught along side physicians and nutritionists and provided presentations for corporate wellness programs. Amy’s recipes have been published locally, and several have been published nationally in Cooking Light magazine.
Her biggest accomplishment though, is cooking delicious and nutritious meals for her family and friends. She reads extensively on the subjects of food, cooking and nutrition. She also enjoys special occasion cooking and party planning. Amy loves to cook and loves to teach, combining the two is her dream job.
Mediterranean Mezze cooking class is offered by Chef Tech Cooking School. Our mission is to teach people how to cook – to show them how to select quality ingredients, use the proper equipment and master the best techniques.
In this class, we'll prepare a vegetarian meal filled with flavors and rich in nutrients. Your child will love kneading the dough for the Pita bread and making homemade falafel!
Mediterranean Cooking class is offered by Cookology Culinary School. We have classes for every level of home cook. However, don't worry about what you don't know, we will walk through each recipe step-by-step, with your own ingredients.
Seafood, vegetables, whole grains, herbs and olive oil are among the ingredients most associated with countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. They make for flavorful dishes that trigger memories of sunbathed vacations and leisurely meals.
