Course Objective

On completion of this course, the participant will gain an appreciation of production and processing cycle of Specialty coffee beans from bean to cup and it’s impact on coffee flavour notes, learn how roasters cup their coffee, discover SCA guidelines and contrast it with actual recipes used by award winning barista in competitions, exposure to the many different types of coffee brewing methods available, understanding and application of different factors of coffee extraction according to the brewing type, the art of steaming & foaming milk with an espresso machine for basic latte art

  • Understanding coffee production, coffee grading, roasting and impact on taste

  • Application of different methods to change and calibrate the taste of your coffee according to your personal preference

  • Hands-on practical activities with an Espresso machine's steam wand

  • Practice the hand/arm movements of performing the milk swirls and actions
