Do you want an intro to cooking and hospitality?

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

  • Work safely, effectively and hygienically in a commercial kitchen or wh?rekai environment.
  • Prepare, cook and present a basic range of kai and describe different methods of cooking.
  • Perform basic front of house tasks, table service and beverage services.
  • Provide effective customer service from manaaki kaupapa.
  • Work and problem solve as a team – he rau ringa e oti ai.

This qualification can lead on to the New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 3), or the New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 3).

 

Entry Requirements

All applicants must:

  • be at least 16 years old at the time the programme commences.
  • be able to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level.
  • be physically able to complete the programme-specific outcomes.
