Welcome to 4LiveCooking! My name is Serene, and my biggest wish is for you to have an easy and fun introduction to Indian cooking.
Growing up in India meant helping mum in the kitchen from a young age. It was because of this that my passion for cooking was ignited as I entered my teenage years and started to learn some of my mother’s recipes.
After getting married and moving to Australia, I was now able to cook for my own family, something that I have had the longing to do since I was a kid. To this day, my favourite thing to do is cook for my family and friends.
Over the years, I have had countless requests from friends to teach them the basics of Indian cooking and even the casual, one-on-one lessons have brought me so much joy.
The last seven years of my life, I had dedicated to working as a teacher-aide which provided me so many amazing opportunities to share my passion for cooking with my colleagues and the school. The annual school fair gave the wonderful opportunity to set up an Indian food stall every year which also allowed for me to share and teach some basics of Indian cooking to my fellow staff members.
Towards the end of 2020, I reflected on all the occasions that I have been able to teach friends, colleagues, and even family what I know about Indian cooking and came to the realisation that teaching cooking is where my passion lies.
That is how I decided to turn this burning desire to teach the basics of Indian cooking into a fun business venture.
