All you need is a ukulele. Total beginners are welcome, as are players who already know how to play a bit. We’ll work on strumming simple songs, and there will be opportunities to sing for those who would like to practice accompanying their voice
All you need is a ukulele. Total beginners are welcome, as are players who already know how to play a bit. We’ll work on strumming simple songs, and there will be opportunities to sing for those who would like to practice accompanying their voice.
We’ll also learn a bit about scales, technique, and easy music theory that goes along with playing the uke. Your ukulele should be soprano, concert, or tenor size.
Intermediate classes are for advancing students who know a few chords and want to focus more on knowledge of the fretboard, scales, note reading, theory, and improvisation.
These classes also give us a chance to do more strumming and singing as a group.

The curriculum of the ukulele is much like the guitar’s: all students learn chords and chord symbols, strumming, fingerstyle, scales and technique, singing and playing, and improvisation
Our ukulele lessons are similar to our guitar lessons. Students learn the parts of the instrument, strumming, and fingerstyle. They learn how to read music with standard notation and tablature (tab), a form of notation that shows where the notes are played on the instrument itself
We offer ukulele instruction either on its own for 30 minutes a week or as part of a Sing & Strum curriculum in 45- or 60-minute lessons, which can also be taken with a friend or family member.
