Our fantastic Head Chef will teach you how to season, fill and fold delicious Japanese Gyoza dumplings and roll sushi in a variety of shapes from hand rolls (temaki), simple rolls (hosomaki) and inside-out rolls (uramaki). You'll get a full low-down on making perfect sushi too!

You will learn:
You’ll learn how to make the perfect sushi rice from scratch with expert help from our Head Chef.
You’ll also learn to wrap sushi in a variety of shapes and popular sizes whilst learning how to fill and fold Japanese Gyoza.
You’ll learn the basic flavour profiles required to make perfect sushi each time and the general rules of flavour for Japanese cookery.
Please note that the aim of this class is to focus on making dumplings and sushi rolls. In the interest of creating a well-focused and in-depth class we will not be covering knife skills. Please see our knife skills courses for in depth coverage of this kitchen skill.

Our cookery courses in the East Midlands include a short demonstration followed by "hands-on" cooking with tutoring to your own specific requirements. Recipes and ingredients are all provided.
Sushi class - four different types of sush (hoso maki, nigiri, inside out maki and chirashi zushi) and miso soup

Firstly, our chef will show everyone the techniques of preparing and cooking your own Sumeshi sushi rice. Then the class will be shown how to prepare a range of different sushi, beginning by making your very own cured Salmon and Cucumber Nori Maki roll, accompanied with Japanese Miso Noodle Soup.
