OCCUTRAIN emphasizes worker safety. Your personnel are trained in hazardous materials and job safety as well as proper handling and disposal techniques. Occutrain’s training courses are EPA accredited, AHERA approved and meet OSHA standards.
Government regulations require anyone involved in asbestos abatement, asbestos inspections, management planning, and project designing to be both State Certified and to have attended an EPA asbestos training course.
In the process of meeting our goal, we have developed training aids and mock environments which parallel work place situations. Participants in those courses which require hands-on training experience will have the opportunity to practice the procedures covered during the lectures. This may be accomplished in a full size decon and containment or in mini containments.
Our instructors and/or facilitators have field experience in their respective subject areas and can quickly relate those experiences to the written material. Simply stated, all training programs offer similar courses; at Occutrain our methods and personnel make the difference.
This course teaches attendees how to meet competent person requirements under the OSHA Excavation Standard. Highlights of the class include detailed explanation of soil testing, cave-in protection methods, inspection techniques, and other requirements as outlined by the standard.
Learning about the different techniques and terminology used in excavations such as trenching, wall shafts, and underpinning is knowledge that most construction workers and supervisors should pursue.
Participants are taught from OSHA’s excavation standard (29 CFR 1926-Subpart P) which requires workers in trenches and excavations to be protected. Can-ins are perhaps the most feared trenching hazard; but other potentially fatal hazards exist, including asphyxiation, toxic fumes, drowning.
This program will include a description of the hazards in and around an excavation, a discussion on the duties and role of the qualified person, a discussion on soil classification and testing, and an overview of the protective systems used to support and protect employees in an excavation.
Excavation Safety training is offered by Stag Safety, LLC. At Stag Safety, we consider ourselves a fractional safety partner, allowing customers to select as-needed solutions without the large capital expenditures associated with in-house safety programs, trainings and certifications.
