What Happens In the Class:
We start the day with a bit of a challenge - rough puff pastry. This will be used to make cheese straws, for a snack . We will then ' use puff pastry for our Diggle pasties, to be taken home and shared (some of these can be eaten for lunch).
After lunch we will make shortcrust pastry to use for the base of our fruit pies, which we will top with filo or puff pastry. If time allows, we might also be able to make a couple of dinky pork (or cheese and potato) pies.
All ingredients and take away containers are provided.
Children can be left for the day or parents can stay and watch or join in the class. If children have additional needs (or are just feeling a little shy), we encourage parents (or older siblings) to work alongside them if needed.
With new guidelines we can now allow children to share workbenches and we will place children into groups with a maximum of 4.
We do understand that some children enjoy being left for the day, whilst others prefer someone to stay, if parents (or carers or grandparents) would prefer to stay and work with their child (or just sit at their workbench and chat to them whilst they are working) we are happy to accommodate that.
Dishes made in this class may be subject to change.
