Pro Chefs. Pro Kitchens.
Summer Culinary is a premier cooking camp for teens who are serious about learning to cook regardless of their skill level. Our student chefs love food and want to build their skills and they want to explore one of our world-class host cities in the evenings with our curated tours and skilled staff.
We accept all skill levels. What is required is a love of food and a desire to learn. We take you from exactly where you are to just where you want to go! We focus on skill building like plating, sauces, glazes and knife use, and we make over 100 amazing recipes from scratch. Come see why we are the best cooking camp in the country! This all started with our flagship location campus NYC in 2011.
Professional Quality
At Summer Culinary, our kitchens are professional and fully outfitted, with professional chefs, and we are in the kitchen from 10am – 6pm every day! Students make, create and enjoy their own lunches and dinners. Full recipes, appetizers, entrees, desserts paired thematically with a special emphasis on plating and presentation at the end.
Like Gordon Ramsey says, it all starts with the presentation. What we are out to do is equip our students with the skills it takes to step up their game and to empower them to know themselves as someone who can create and serve excellence. When we combine these intentions with the real on-the-court skill-building exercises we have created (like knife skills) we have created a recipe for culinary success.
This is an intro class open to any sake enthusiasts and anyone who works in the industry.
In this class, we will cover recipes that use more unfamiliar pickling mediums, such as whey, oil, salt, soy sauce, miso, rice bran, and more for unique flavors and textures. Come out and learn the cure for the common pickle!
This level-one certificate is designed to provide the student with the skills necessary to obtain employment as a prep cook, cook or pastry cook. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of food safety and sanitation as well as supervision theory.
In this class, guests will taste through the Brooklyn Kitchen pantry, coming to understand and curate their own palates. Simple preparations come together to offer a wide array of flavor combinations.
Open Public Group Classes are highlighted in green on Whisked Away’s calendar. The menu and date are set and anyone can register for these classes. Whether you are a pro in the kitchen or a complete novice, there is always something new to learn.
