We will cover what to look for when buying knives, how to hold them, clean them, sharpen them, and of course, how to cut with them. Techniques practiced will include basic and elevated cuts, such as batonnet, brunoise, chiffonade, & supreme.
The Culinary Cottage came to life in January 2016, when owner Nicole Flowers began receiving requests for private cooking lessons. What started out as classes in her San Antonio home quickly blossomed, and The Culinary Cottage was born.
In this instruction-forward event, we’ll teach you to slice, dice, chiffonade, supreme, and julienne like a pro. You'll learn the techniques to help you hold your knife correctly, what to look for in a good blade, and instruct on an array of techniques that are essential to evenly cooked.
