One of the aims of the course was to show the young people how simple and easy is to cook from scratch.
Over the course we have highlighted the importance and the benefits of a balanced diet which includes regular consumption of fresh and seasonal vegetables, we had a masterchef pizza competition and a pasta making session too. Lots of fun and healthy tips!
Fritto is also an award-winning social enterprise on the mission to use food to enrich peoples’ lives, while tackling social issues through cooking workshops and mentoring activities.
Fritto’s story began at Granby Fourstreets Community Market in the summer of 2015, when the organisers invited Luca to sample his Italian street food menu on the local community and we’ve never looked back.
It turns out that Granby Street was the perfect place to begin the Fritto story, combining Luca’s two passions: food and social change.
Milan-born Luca came to Merseyside in 2010 to study a Master degree in Criminology at the University of Liverpool. Five years later, he left his job to follow his passion for cooking and do something more worthwhile.
On this course we’ll delve into what it takes to make quality Italian bread and while we’re at it we’ll go in depth on how to create Italian restaurant quality pizza In your own home.
Our cookery workshops designed especially for adults and children to cook together are a perfect way to for children to spend some quality time with parents, carers, grandparents, aunties and uncles.
It’s time to dust off your pasta machine, get out your pizza cutter & do something with that risotto rice you have in the back of your cupboard. Enjoy the creativity and comfort of Italian cooking, learning traditional dishes from different regions.
You start your lesson with an introduction and Italian breakfast then onto making that fresh pasta, fillings and delicious sauces, that everybody loves!
