In recent years, discoveries from leading scientific researchers have found that the state of our gut bacteria could lead to better mood, immunity and skin.
During the class you will learn how to get started with fermenting at home. You’ll drink Kombucha on arrival which is packed with probiotics, fundamental in helping to balance the gut microbiome.
What you will make – please bring 3 preserving jars or purchase ones from us on the night.
Kimchi and Sauerkraut are great side dishes which can be eaten with any meal and are traditionally made by fermenting cabbage but many other vegetables can be used.
Korean kimchi is hot and spicy whilst sauerkraut has a distinctive sour flavour – the result of lactic acid formed when the bacteria ferment the sugars in the cabbage leaves.
What’s included:
Probiotic drink on arrival and the food you make – please bring three glass preserving jars, at least 500ml or purchase ones from us on the day. The class will last 2.5 to 3 hours depending on number of guests. You will eat your dishes on the night and take home your jars of fermented Sauerkraut and Kimchi.

Our series of Fermentation classes show you how to ferment at home, and this class is designed to be the inspiration for what to do next. We will show what you can do with all your ferments, including kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, tempeh, fermented batters and cashew cheeses.
An exciting collaboration with Willys ACV. Fermentation is the magical process of transforming a food product into something tastier, longer lasting and better for our health.
We will be rolling oats, kibbling barley and sharing our fermenting techniques to create a unique loaf. We will be baking sourdough as well as the humble crispbread washed down with a freshly milled rye and chocolate brownie.
At this gut health class, Emily will help you understand more about what the gut microbiota is and what our amazing bacteria can do. She will then go on to show you how to prepare some fermented foods, easily from scratch, giving you the know how to take away, along with your filled up jars.
