In 1973, Martha Kaemmer and her sister Mary Rice thought that the time was ripe for a culinary awakening. Cooks was born in a 1,500-square-foot storefront at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Lexington Parkway, in St. Paul.
There were four employees and approximately 250 different items for sale. Mary left a year later to pursue a new culinary journey in Bayfield, WI. Martha carried the company forward for more than 30 years.
The ACE Pre-Teen/Teen Summer Cooking and Baking Program includes 5 in-class sessions. An apron will be provided to students. A Certificate of Completion is awarded to those who complete all 5-day segment requirements and pass the final project.

Kids Steak Class is offered by Flavors on Fire for all ages and skill levels. At Flavors on Fire, we harness the power of fire to create amazing flavors. While you sip on one of our specially curated wines, our chefs will teach you about different cooking techniques and flavors.
Making the classic Chicken & Biscuits recipes, kids will learn the basics of braising and baking. Using recipes which will both teach and put into practice these two essential cooking methods to create a delicious dinner.
