Description

  • Using a sharp knife can be very intimidating. Learning how to properly hold and use a knife is the most important skill in the kitchen.
  • In this class, you will learn the knife basics to ensure you can prepare and tackle nearly any type of food. This will include cuts like dicing and julienning, as well as the most efficient way to peel an onion and mince garlic, plus other tips and tricks.
  • You will work with the instructor to slice, dice and chop all sorts of vegetables until you are confident.
  • You will use an array of Japanese knives.
  • You will also learn about knife storage, cleaning, and honing (daily maintenance) to ensure you are always having to sharpen your knives.
