Nicole Flowers has been teaching people to cook since 2016. She started her highly successful cooking school, The Culinary Cottage, after receiving many requests for private cooking lessons in her home. Shortly thereafter, she opened a charming 1912 cottage and quickly became one of the most sought-after places for cooking classes in the San Antonio area (people joked that getting a spot in one of Nicole’s classes was like getting tickets to a Taylor Swift concert).
After seven years in a brick and mortar, Nicole switched gears and now teaches private classes and also holds classes in the kitchens of some local businesses. This has allowed her to spend more time with family and still get to do what she loves.
Nicole is an ardent foodie and has always been passionate about cooking. She was introduced to the culinary world at a very early age, spending countless hours in the kitchen with her Greek grandmother—an amazing cook and Nicole's biggest source of inspiration. Many of her childhood memories are rooted in food; her father is a former restaurant owner and chef.
She never saw her grandmother or father use a recipe, but instead watched them cook effortlessly, pairing flavors and textures together to create amazing meals. She especially loves how food has the magical power to bring people together. Nicole loves a good meal, eating with loved ones, cooking for loved ones, and simply just being around food!
Nicole completed her Culinary Certification through a CIA-designed course. She has worked as a personal chef, created desserts for The Dodging Duck restaurant and brewery in Boerne, Texas (her "diner-style" chocolate pie won 3rd place in the 2011 Texas Chocolate Festival), and spent 7 years teaching cooking classes for all levels at The Culinary Cottage.
Teaching people to cook and sharing her passion for culinary arts is truly a dream come true for Nicole. It is her heart’s desire to inspire people to cook real food, to teach others how to cook with abandon (no recipe required), and to truly love to cook.
