In this class students will be learning to prepare two different varieties of soups and a customized salad with dressing. Why soup and salad? Because of their versatility, both soup and salad preparation allows students to learn the basic skills they will need to not only prepare these delicious dishes, but also acts as a foundation recipe for so many other meals. And, it teaches kids how to select, mix and even substitute ingredients that suit a variety of tastes when cooking for others.
Skills which can be carried over into almost any type of cooking. As part of this learning experience, students will be practicing various fundamental cooking skills, such as peeling, slicing, dicing, blending and sautéing ingredients in a fun and interesting way! *
