We don’t know about you, but when we think about Spain, there’s one dish that jumps to mind: paella! In this class Laura Pyles will lead a discussion of the Spanish pantry, and teach you how to cook contemporary versions of their most famous dish.
You’ll sip on Spanish wine (for educational purposes, of course!) as you make tomato-rubbed bread with olive oil and sea salt; paella with chicken, smoked sausage, and artichokes; paella with prawns, mussels, cod, and calamari; paella with chickpeas, roasted peppers, artichoke hearts, and squash; and paella with rabbit, snails and piquillo peppers.

Here at the Pantry, we call ourselves a community kitchen. For us, that means we do many things: cooking classes focusing on traditional food crafts and technique, five-course family-style dinners, culinary camp for the kids, power lunches for makers, food swaps, and cookbook club potluck suppers.
Basically anything we can think of to get our neighbors around the table, breaking bread and building community.
Paella is a method of cooking in a specific pan. Mastering the way to use this pan will enable you to make your own with just about any combination. For this class we want to inspire your creativity by covering two Paella recipes.
Tapas refers to Spanish small plates enjoyed before dinner or late in the evening. Kick back and enjoy crafting a bounty of delicious Spanish tapas as the chef shares tips and tricks to easily prepare and artfully present these delicious small plates.
Each hands-on cooking class will feature recipes from my travels throughout Spain and highlight seasonal ingredients and lots of cooking techniques. After reviewing the recipes together, students will divide into teams to work on recipes together.
Original dish of Spain we are bring it to you and making it easy for you to to prepare using knife skills, prepare with direction of our Chef, and eat as a group enjoying your meal as a team!
Oh my! We can already smell the amazing Hispanic recipes we’ll be creating today in our studio! We’ll learn a few Spanish cooking terms in our trivia to wrap up the evening! We’ll get cooking in the Flour Power kitchen studio with Cheesy Mexican Cauli Rice and Spicy Chicken Taquitos.
